Volunteers will help prepare some of the 5,000 meals made daily on site. You must be healthy to volunteer with DC Central Kitchen (no coughs, colds, etc.).
All volunteers must wear appropriate and professional attire suitable for an industrial production kitchen. Please wear closed toed shoes, sleeves and long pants. Shoes with high-grip soles are strongly recommended.
DC Central Kitchen is located on the ground floor of the Federal City Shelter at 425 Second Street NW. The Federal City Shelter is a three story gray building on the southeast corner of Second and E Streets NW.
Please note that the Central Kitchen cannot be entered from Second Street. The entrance to the Central Kitchen is at the back of this building, down the service road off of E Street NW and is marked by a large sign. It looks like a service/delivery entrance, this is where parking is.
Driver Needed - Comment below if you will drive. Driver must turn in participation sheet with red bag.
Reflection Leader - Comment below if you will serve as Reflection Leader, leading the group in completion of a short survey to be turned in to the GA office or with the red bag.
Meet in the Ground Floor Lounge at 4:00pm.
If you must cancel your participation within 5 days of the project date, you are responsible for finding a substitute and notifying us (you may leave a comment below). If no substitute is found you will need to complete an additional service project this semester.
