Join us in planting a restoration of trees right off the Rock Creek Park trail. This is part of the Centennial Challenge Project in partnership with Rock Creek Conservancy. Thanks to the hard work of Rock Creek Conservancy, National Parks Service, and Casey Trees, this hillside is free of invasive weeds and ready to be planted with native trees.
**This is predicted to be a difficult planting site. All participants need to be comfortable:
All volunteers will need to maintain balance on the steep slope while planting. If you have difficulty keeping your balance, we do not recommend you volunteer at this site.
There will be a short (5-10 minute hike from the road to our planting location) make sure you provide yourself with enough time to get to the planting site on time.
To make your time with us even more enjoyable, please remember to:
Arrive on time. Check-in opens a 8:30 a.m. and volunteers must be present for the tool safety demonstration at the start of the event.
Dress comfortably and for the weather. Events take place rain or shine. Closed toe shoes are required and long pants are highly encouraged.
If you have any questions before the event, please do not hesitate to contact us at volunteer [at] caseytrees.org or 202.349.1907. If you have any questions on the day-of the planting, please reach us on the volunteer cell phone at 202.578.0696.
Meet in the Ground Floor Lounge at 8:05 am so that you can arrive by 8:45am for check-in.
