Dean Chang - Collaborator
Dean Chang is the University of Maryland’s founding Associate Vice President for the Academy for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (AIE). Prior to AIE, Chang oversaw the Clark School of Engineering’s technology startup venture programs. He is also a lead principal investigator and instructor in the National Science Foundation’s I-Corps Node program. Before coming to UMD, Chang spent 15 years in Silicon Valley where he served dual roles as the chief technology officer and vice president, gaming business of Immersion Corporation. Chang holds over 40 U.S. and international patents and is a Pi Tau Sigma graduate from MIT, Ph.D. graduate from Stanford, Palmer Scholar MBA from Wharton, and an engineering Air Force Office of Scientific Research Fellow.

Andrew Fellows - Community Engagement Liaison and Co-Instructor, BSCV 191
Andrew Fellows is a joint appointee of the College of Information Studies and the National Center for Smart Growth at the University of Maryland. With Campus Community Connection, he has helped to develop over eighty projects with seven municipalities and Prince George’s County for collaboration with the University of Maryland community. He is a former three-term Mayor of College Park (2009-2015), and served on the Washington Metropolitan Council of Government’s Transportation Planning Board and Board of Directors and by appointment of the Governor to the Maryland Commission on Environmental Justice and Sustainable Communities. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting and Film from Boston University and a master’s degree in American Studies from the University of Maryland. His interests include travel, culture and politics.

Judy Markowitz - CIVICUS Library Liaison
Judy Markowitz is the librarian liaison supporting the library needs of the faculty and students within the Department of Government & Politics, School of Public Policy, Department of Women’s Studies, LGBT Studies, and the CIVICUS Living & Learning Program. As the library liaison, she provides assistance with any library-related questions and issues students and faculty in these areas might have. In addition to helping with faculty or library instruction session needs, if CIVICUS students need help locating information, searching databases, or refining inquiries, they are welcome to contact her. She is based in McKeldin Library in the Humanities and Social Sciences Librarians group.

Nicole Mehta - Instructor
Nicole Mehta is the Program Director for Diversity & Inclusion in the Department of Resident Life. Her role includes the Common Ground Multicultural Dialogue Program and Peer Dialogue Leader Internship program, as well as other diversity and inclusion programs for students and staff. Prior to her work at UMD, Nicole worked in Student Activities at American University, where she advised cultural, academic, and social justice organizations, along with implementing leadership development programs. She holds a master's degree in College Student Personnel from UMD and a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Journalism from San Diego State University. She is also currently pursing a PhD in Student Affairs at UMD. Her interests include traveling, running, yoga, and reading.
