The College Park Day Festival is the City of College Park's largest public festival complete with 2 stages of live music, over 125 participating organizations of all kinds, The Orioles and UMD mascots, free Barre classes, ZOCA, and Zumba classes, free Aviation Museum admission, College Park's best food purveyors, and much more. As you can imagine it takes a lot of helping hands to make the event a success!
12:00pm - 3:00pm Shift 2: Attractions, Kids Area Crew, and Welcome
This crew helps run the kids attractions at the event as well as helps direct guests at critical locations onsite. They will pair you with a professional staff member from the rental company to help facilitate the "rides" at College Park Day. Volunteers will also help to set up tables and chairs and orient visitors.
Reflection Leader - Comment below if you will serve as Reflection Leader, leading the group in completion of a short survey to be turned in to Amy in the GA office or with the red bag.
Meet in the Ground Floor Lounge at 11:15am. The Aviation Museum is located a few minutes' walk from the College Park Metro station, so volunteers can take the free 104 UMD shuttle to the site (it leaves from Regents Parking Garage and drops off at the Metro station). Walking directions from the Metro station will be sent in your reminder a few days before the project!
Event contact: Call or text Krista Atteberry if any problems or questions arise, 301.524.6082 and 301.524.6081.
If you must cancel your participation within 5 days of the project date, you are responsible for finding a substitute and notifying us (you may leave a comment below). If no substitute is found you will need to complete an additional service project this semester.
